LifeTeen (High School)

Why LifeTeen?

LifeTeen was started in 1985 in Mesa, AZ as a parish based youth ministry and faith formation program. Over the past year, St Joseph Church has incorporated LifeTeen into its high school faith formation program. LifeTeen incorporates knowledge with personal and spiritually applications of the faith. The program leads teens to Jesus Christ through relevant teen topics, interactive, activities, and social events.

Sending Them Out Into the World
LifeTeen builds off the foundations that are laid out in EDGE, that we are all called to be saints both great and small, at the middle school level. It can also be a stand alone program and so even if you have not participated in EDGE you are welcome to attend. LifeTeen continues to lead high school students on the path to sainthood and prepares them to be sent out into their schools, homes, and community. The goal is to give them a faith that will keep them rooted in the Church long after they graduate high school. LifeTeen strives to fulfill the Great Commission to go out and make disciples of all the nations. Cf Matt 28:16-20

Encountering A Vibrant Faith Community
When you bring your teen to LifeTeen, You can be assured that he/she will be supported by caring adults who have been trained in the Virtus Program as required by the Diocese of Yakima and are practicing Catholics who are passionate about their faith. Your child will also have the opportunity to meet and socialize with young Catholics who are going through the same challenges they are going through. Together we help each teen to navigate the world around them with Christ as their anchor.

We Want to Raise Children Who Are Like Jesus
We want youth to see the Church as their home away from home. Christ did not just sit in a classroom and teach his apostles, but he engaged them on a personal level. Jesus spent plenty of time in prayer, and  through his personal touch created his own version of LifeTeen.
